Meet René Imhof, Head of Operational Pricing
We can make a direct impact on patient lives as we all work to increase access to our products.
The Operational Pricing team includes an In-Market Pricing group and a Transfer Pricing group. Our role is to give guidance to our regional and local market access and pricing functions around the world for the implementation of our value-based pricing strategies.
My role is very commercial with direct impact on the top and bottom line of the company. In an increasingly constrained environment, we have to be very flexible, as pricing issues which need thoughtful, cross-functional discussion and alignment can arise at any time in the markets. What I enjoy most is the difference we can make to patients around the world. Working together with our regional and local colleagues to find innovative pricing solutions so that patients can access our products is the most rewarding aspect of my role.
I think the most helpful experience for my current role is an understanding of how an affiliate operates. I had the chance to work in different positions in an affiliate which allowed me to see the full spectrum of functions of local organisation including finance, marketing, pricing and sales. I enjoy working at GPMA very much because of the diverse environment and also the direct contact I have with people from around the world – these aspects are very exciting and personally.
