HR Perspectives is Roche’s global rotation program designed for individuals who are at an early stage of their career in Human Resources and who would like to make significant contributions to what patients need next. We are looking for highly energetic and globally mobile future HR leaders from around the world.
Recognizing the central importance of experiential learning and development, HR Perspectives provides HR professionals a unique opportunity to build a broad global network, experience different areas of HR, and gain skills that will be necessary for a career in HR – and all of this in an accelerated timeframe.

Program Characteristics
- A rotational talent development program which offers a wide range of experiences
- 2 years in different HR disciplines, 3-4 assignments
- Positions around the globe, depending on availability
- Participants perform in “real” responsibilities / projects
- Contribute from day 1, performance in your rotations is key

- Develop future HR leaders who demonstrate Excellence in Human Resources and in Leadership
- Nurture highly qualified individuals to build a rapid understanding of Human Resources and the Roche business

Excellence in Human Resources
- Participants shall experience all 3 roles of Roche’s HR delivery model
- HR Business Partner
- HR Expert
- HR Service Provider
- Exposure to HR processes (e.g. recruiting, performance management, development, compensation, operations & services)
- Hands-on experience in different HR roles
- Exposure to Pharma, Diagnostics and Group HR
- One assignment at Roche Headquarters in Basel, Switzerland
- On the job learning also includes project management and system experience
- Participants shall experience all 3 roles of Roche’s HR delivery model

Possible Program ExperiencesThe program provides you with flexible assignments and aims to give you exposure to our Pharma Division, our Diagnostics Division as well as Group HR. Additionally it is highly encouraged to experience mature as well as emerging markets. Ultimately, as a participant you are in the driver’s seat to identify your next assignment based on your interests, development needs and the fit to needs from the business. Who You Are

We are looking for highly energetic and globally mobile future HR leaders from around the world. Recognizing the central importance of experiential learning and development, HR Perspectives provides HR professionals a unique opportunity to build a broad global network, experience different areas of HR, and gain skills that will be necessary for a career in HR – and all this in an accelerated timeframe.
As an ideal candidate you have/are:
- Master degree or MBA and demonstrate interest and passion for HR
- Strong leadership potential and the ambition to take over a leadership position within HR in the near future
- Passion for people and the ability to share our company’s values of integrity, courage and passion
- At an early stage in your career: up to 5 years relevant work experience
- At least 6 months worked in a foreign country (ideally in a developing region); Internships in HR are strongly favourable
- Global mindset and a high degree of mobility both during AND after the program
- Ideally, experience in a developing region (i.e. Asia Pacific, Latin America, Middle East, Africa, Eastern Europe)
- Team player attitude and proven ability to integrate well into different cultures and business settings
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in English and a second language required; willingness to learn another language

Your Mentor
- Regular contacts with participant during program
- Introduction meeting and advice for 2 year program objectives
- Mentor and assignee mutually responsible for identifying subsequent program assignments based on interests, development needs and assignment availability
- Individual development input and advice for adjusting development plan across duration of program
- Support for post-program entry opportunities
- Key to longer term retention, maintains an ongoing relationship with participant
- Regular contacts with participant during program

Outcome and Prospects
Experiences during the program
- Understanding how HR adds value to the business
- Involvement in day-to-day HR business and project work
- Virtual teamwork with participants in the crew
- Mentored by a senior HR leader
After the program
- Enhanced Business understanding through knowledge of the Diagnostics and Pharma product portfolio and business model
- Global experience and x-cultural mindset
- Increased readiness for further managerial roles in Human Resources on international or local level (high performance and available positions assumed)
- In last months during the program: together with support from mentor and program manager, participants to actively apply for a post program HR role.
