Meet Thanh, Financial Planner & Analyst

Tell us a bit about yourself

Graduated with a commerce degree, my first working experience was in “Audit” with one of the Big4. That gave me great opportunities to gain business knowledge from various industries and get a good overview of business operations and risk assessment. When I was a Senior Associate, I decided to move to Roche for further career development.

One word to describe me is “adventure”. I love backpacking around the world. To me, life is always full of unexpected and amazing adventures. In my leisure time I enjoy participating in social activities, such as charity, dancing club and focus group.

In which Roche location do you currently work and what can you tell us about that location as a work environment?

I work for the Representative Office of Roche Pharma Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City. We are well-known as a “famous visiting destination” for senior management within the region as well as from the headquarter. Why? Roche Pharma Vietnam consistently posted strong growth in recent years and I hope that we will continue to rock in the future. I do believe that we can make it by promoting a strong can-do attitude and creating a great place to work with many exciting activities throughout the years.

Why did you decide to join Roche and why at this location?

With a commerce background and experience in external auditing, I discovered Roche as a great place for my continuous career development. Roche motivates me to learn and understand operational issues in depth, such as the gap between process and people, planning and execution. This also requires to stretch myself to deal with internal complexity and drive success.

What is your current position at Roche?

I am currently a Finance Partner for Specialty Care Business Unit and also support our distributor. The role enables me to get more market insights, and bring value to the business in return. The most interesting parts of my current job are building my credibility with the commercial team, improving effectiveness and efficiency in business, navigating and supporting under the finance partner role.

How would you describe Roche as an employer?

I have a strong belief in Roche’s potential growth. Our people focused culture is what motivates me to work here and to contribute to our mission to improve the quality of treatment for patients.

How would you describe the people working here?

I am fortunate to be part of a young and highly energetic team. With the same “can-do” attitude, we always strive for efficiency and effectiveness, and aim to deliver high quality work. I get never tired or bored when I work with my colleagues.

How is your job connected to “doing now what patients need next”

As a member of the Roche family, my team and I work together to promote a culture of effectiveness and efficiency in the organization. We collaborate with our business partners to drive sustainable growth, and excel for our patients.
