Roche classified again as most sustainable company within health sector in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices
For the 6th year in a row, Roche have been recognized by the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) as leader of sustainability in the pharma, biotechnological and bioscience sector. So Roche set itself within the top 10% of the more sustainability in all the analyzed sectors. The inclusion in the DJSI is based on a deep analyze of the environmental, economic and social behavior of the companies, that asses aspects like corporate governance, collaboration with stakeholders, risk management, the standards applied in the supply chain and labor practices. The DJSI have become the main reference for investors to apply sustainability criteria in the selection of their portfolios.
In PIMS aims to enable innovation at Roche by providing tools and systems – but also keep them ecologically sustainable. An example of Green IT shows up with the optimization of Data Centers, which have high electricity consumptions. This can be reduced with better cooling techniques as implemented at the Indianapolis site for instance.
And also we are compromise in a economic and social level by providing the opportunity to have their first experience in a work environment to the participants of our Internship Program, and offering the programs that facilitate the personal-professional valance, like Roche@home that allows the employees to work from home one day per week. With these and many other initiatives we are proving our compromise with the sustainability.
