Meet Senthil, Medical Scientific Liaison in Malaysia
Tell us a bit about yourself
I am a creative person with vast interest in Science and Technology. I graduated from medical school and was previously working with the Ministry Of Health. During my free time, I enjoy listening to music and indulging in sports.
In which Roche location do you currently work and what can you tell us about that location as a work environment?
I currently work in Roche Malaysia. Our office is located at The Pinnacle Sunway, which is right next to Sunway Lagoon Resort, Hotel and Mall. It’s a great place to unwind during the weekend or for a short catch up with colleagues and friends after work.
Why did you decide to join Roche and why at this location?
Roche Pharmaceuticals focuses on providing patients with access to innovative and personalized medicines - the foundation for sustainable healthcare.
What is your current position at Roche?
I am currently a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) with Roche. As an MSL, I am involved in many high-leveled scientific discussions with physicians in specific therapeutic/disease areas. This gives me the opportunity to fully understand how a disease is being treated and managed from the ground up. It is also exciting that you get to be able to meet new people and gather insights that could eventually change patients’ lives for the better.
How would you describe Roche as an employer?
Roche encourages a healthy work-life balance and provides a warm working environment.
How would you describe the people working here?
Working in the pharmaceutical industry for the first time meant there was a steep learning curve for me. I could not have done it without the guidance of my colleagues from various functional backgrounds. They are always there when you need them and I could not ask for more.
How is your job connected to “doing now what patients need next”?
As a pharmaceutical company focused on innovative and personalized medicine, we enable the physicians to treat diseases which were once untreatable. So, by just being a part of Roche in any role, you would be “doing now what patients need next.”
