Tell us a bit about yourself
I joined Roche Technical Operation in March, 2000. During the ten years at Production Department, I took charge of aseptic production, solid manufacturing, validation and transfer in MSAT (Manufacturing Science and Technology), and joined in several large-scale projects. In September, 2014, I went to Leganes in Spain to execute a 6-month overseas arrangement and meanwhile, I started to work as Drug Product Technical Leader.
What can you tell us about that location as a work environment?
What leaves me deep impression is the authorization to maximum extent and sufficient trust from the upper class. It was in this environment that even though Contract Manufacturing Operation is a brand-new business mode to Roche Shanghai, every member of project team all give play to maximum potential, and finally the project was successfully completed two months in advance.
Why did you decide to join Roche and why at this location?
As the world’s leading pharmaceutical enterprise, Roche has built mature sharing platform, for example, the technology and experience sharing between MSAT of all Roche factories and MSAT of Headquarter, both parties will share and communicate with each other every month. No matter for projects or daily work, other factories’ experience and related information will be shared through this platform.
How would you describe Roche as an employer?
Development opportunity is also what Roche striving for its people. As employee who has worked at Roche for over 14 years, I have a clear idea of the development opportunities Roche provides.
Looking back on my career path, I was in 5 different roles over my 14-year Roche journey. There are always new tasks and new challenges around me.
I remember I once discussed my IDP with my boss that I was looking for a chance of short-term overseas assignment and I was also expecting some global job for the future career development. To my surprise I was informed to the Roche factory in Spain for a six-month overseas assignment after I handed over the complete project at the end of 2013, and meanwhile, I started to work as Drug Product Technical Leader.
Furthermore, Roche is also a place focus on teamwork and collaboration. To me, teamwork is a broad concept, and the key to it is replace-thinking. Helping each other and offering constructive solutions in times of difficulty are the right attitude for a true team player.
What would you advise job seekers who want to join us?
To me it means know your strengths and weaknesses, and what you like and want.
