As a research-focused company, we are firmly committed to promoting value and excellence in science and to enhancing broad interest and understanding of cutting-edge science. This includes helping to develop future scientists through educational programmes from the primary through post-graduate level, especially providing resources, training and information to those teaching science who can, in turn, inspire learners.  

Swiss Youth in Science

In Switzerland, Roche is an active supporter of Swiss Youth in Science, a foundation that raises awareness of science among children and young people and gives them insight into possible areas of interest in science. We, for instance, support the foundation’s national competitions, study weeks and the Swiss Talent Forum, a think-tank for young adults. Elsewhere, Roche affiliates support similar STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) programmes such as the German Blue Genes-Experiment Suitcase, Roche Young Scientists Award in Hong Kong, Vanden Robotics in California and local science Olympiads.

Simply Science

Roche supports Simply Science, a Swiss foundation that hosts a website for natural sciences and technology and that is piloting an innovative competition among secondary school classes, Science on the Move. Roche is the sole corporate sponsor of the national competition, which aims to promote science study and science careers by engaging more participants, not just high achievers, in science and enhancing broader understanding of life science research.
