The COBAS® AMPLICOR (CT/NG) Test is a qualitative in vitro test for the detection of C. trachomatis and/or N. gonorrhoeae DNA in urine from males and females**, in endocervical swab specimens, and in male urethral swab specimens***. The test utilizes the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) nucleic acid amplification technique and nucleic acid hybridization for the detection of Chlamydia trachomatis and/or Neisseria gonorrhoeae in urogenital specimens using automated COBAS® AMPLICOR analyzers.

** The COBAS® AMPLICOR (CT/NG) Test is not available in the US for testing female urine specimens for N. gonorrhoeae.

This highly sensitive test offers Roche's fully automated real-time PCR technology to achieve a broad dynamic range for the quantitative detection of hepatitis B virus (HBV) DNA in patient plasma and serum. The COBAS® AmpliPrep/COBAS® TaqMan® HBV Test, v2.0 can be used to measure HBV DNA levels at baseline and during treatment to aid in assessing response to treatment. The Test can detect genotypes A-H and pre-core mutants. It offers a broader dynamic range than previous generation tests, from as low as 20 IU/mL to as high as 1.7E+08 IU/mL, enabling physicians to improve viral load monitoring. The assay offers both serum and plasma specimen type and uses only a 650 μl sample processing volume.

The COBAS® AmpliPrep/COBAS® TaqMan® HCV Test is an in vitro nucleic acid amplification test for the quantitation of hepatitis C virus (HCV) RNA in human plasma or serum using the COBAS® AmpliPrep Instrument for automated specimen processing and the COBAS® TaqMan® Analyzer or the COBAS®TaqMan®48 Analyzer for automated amplification and detection. The test is intended for use in conjunction with clinical presentation and other laboratory markers of HCV infection for the clinical management of patients with chronic HCV. The test can be used to assess the probability of a sustained viral response early in a course of antiviral therapy and to assess viral response to antiviral treatment as measured by changes in serum or plasma HCV RNA levels.

The COBAS® TaqMan® CT Test, v2.0 is an in vitro nucleic acid amplification test for the qualitative detection of Chlamydia trachomatis DNA in female endocervical swab specimens or male and female urine, using the AMPLICOR® CT/NG Sample Preparation Kit for manual specimen preparation and the COBAS® TaqMan® 48 Analyzer for automated amplification and detection.

The test has incorporated a dual-target strategy (cryptic plasmid DNA and MOMP gene genomic DNA) to ensure accurate and reliable detection of Chlamydia, including the variant strain recently found in Sweden.

The test utilizes the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) nucleic acid amplification technique and nucleic acid hybridization for the detection of M. tuberculosis in liquified, decontaminated and concentrated human respiratory specimens, including expectorated and induced sputum and bronchial alveolar lavages (BAL).
