cobas® IT 1000 application reaches 500th installation
Roche Professional Diagnostics announced today the 500th installation of its successful point-of-care software solution
Globally* released in 2005 the cobas IT 1000 application was quickly accepted in the market and developed into a leading position for Roche in the open point-of-care IT systems. In 31 countries all over the world, the cobas IT 1000 applications facilitate decentralization of testing by enabling POC coordinators to take full control over results, users instruments and quality processes. The cobas IT 1000 application is the core module of the cobas POC IT solution that includes cobas bge link software, cobas academy learning platform and cobas e-service.
The flexible connectivity offers various options to transfer test results into the electronic patient records of the hospital information system, providing a single interface to the LIS/HIS for all point-of-care devices in use. Test results are made available quickly to physicians for their critical decision making. Remote configuration of connected POC instruments and remote control of QC procedures improve workflow in order to save health care professionals and point-of-care coordinators time for tasks with higher value.
“Typically, cobas IT 1000 applications are installed in large and medium sized hospital. However, the market is expanding to include both smaller hospitals and the supra-regional lab networks that share a single cobas IT 1000 installation”, said Charles Delany, Head of Global Marketing Hospital Point of Care Decentralized Diagnostics.
