Access to Healthcare

Sustainable solutions to improve global healthcare

Healthcare resources and needs vary widely from country to country and cannot be provided for with a single approach. Whilst governments are primarily responsible for setting up healthcare systems, the healthcare sector has an important role to play in tackling the global healthcare challenge.  Lack of access to medicines and diagnostics is one of many systemic causes of healthcare inequality, combined with lack of disease awareness, low levels of diagnosis, limited healthcare infrastructure and budgets.

To increase access and tackle these wider problems, we work together with governments, healthcare providers, the media, patient groups and non-governmental organisations (NGOs). We are committed to finding sustainable and impactful ways to make a long-term difference to healthcare. In addition, we work closely with governments and payers to demonstrate the value of our products and services to patients, society and healthcare systems.

Health needs in developing and emerging countries differ from those in the developed world, hence, we have developed different strategies and programmes for improving global access, reflecting the needs of the different regions and aimed at maximising the benefits to the country.
