Roche Sequencing Santa Clara's mission is to make genetic information universally available. Job Description:
As Scientist I, you will be helping to perform experiments and analyze data to drive development of our sequencing technology. The successful candidate must be excited about learning new concepts from biology,chemistry, physics, and electrical engineering and applying them to an interdisciplinary project. The candidate will be doing highly repetitive tasks, therefore should be detail oriented and has strong record keeping and communication skills.

The ideal candidate will be someone who:
  • Can perform experiments in lab 
  • Has familiarity with pipetting and other molecular biology techniques
  • Knowledgeable in basic circuit theory
  • Feels comfortable with data analysis and scientific scripting
  • Will help in development and testing of new assays for Genia’s sequencing platform
Required Skills
  • Basic understanding of scripting languages (i.e. Python, Bash)
  • Experience with molecular biology techniques (i.e. pipetting)
  • Familiarity with scientific programming
  • Experience with data analysis
Desired skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with several different disciplines 
  • Basic understanding of the Unix environment 
  • Basic understanding of analog electronic circuits is a plus
  • Chemistry or biophysics background is a plus
