The Position

Franchise: Cross BioOncology

The Cross-BioOncology Franchise includes the Biomarker Testing Team, a pioneering team responsible for providing unbranded education about quality testing to identify appropriate patients for Genentech’s personalized therapies. We are looking for a Biomarker Testing Specialist living in the Boston/Connecticut/ Vermont/New Hampshire/Maine Rhode Island territory to join our team. The Biomarker Testing Specialist’s main focus is to provide unbranded education to pathologists and other members of the multi-disciplinary team about quality testing in order to ensure appropriate patients are diagnosed for Genentech therapies. Current educational focus areas include breast and lung cancer testing and next generation sequencing testing. This is a highly collaborative role with internal partners and approximate travel is 50%.

Reports to: Area Manager, Biomarker Testing Team

Key Competencies, Duties and Responsibilities:

• Identifies, builds, and supports relationships with key customers including: pathologists, lab directors, medical and surgical oncologists, pulmonologists, interventional radiologists, nurse navigators, tumor registrars, and state societies
• Addresses all relevant biomarker testing education needs with identified accounts
• Develops and implements territory account plan to refine and expand customer base
Exceptional Collaboration:
• Communicates and collaborates with all internal partners/stakeholders
• Coordinates business planning and customer calls with other field personnel as necessary
• Serves as a territory resource to address testing related issues.
• Demonstrates strong facilitation skills with the ability to inspire and influence

Technical Expertise:
• Demonstrates ability to learn highly technical/scientific information quickly and communicate it simply in small or large group settings.

• Stays abreast of current market trends and technical information relevant to testing focus areas

• Understands diagnostic marketplace trends and anticipate territory impact
• Recognizes market trends and able to identify and shape long term strategies
• Identifies synergies with internal partners and demonstrates the ability to apply appropriate approaches at the account level
• Maximizes GNE resources with a strategic approach
• Complies with all laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of GNE activities
