Precancerosis
Changes in the body which can possibly develop to a carcinoma. Both symptoms and tissue changes are used in an attempt to evaluate the statistical probability with which precancerosis will develop into a malignant tumour. A distinction is made between facultative precancerosis, which only rarely becomes malignant, and obligative precancerosis, which has a high risk of becoming malignant within a relatively short period.
