Liver
The liver is the largest organ in the human body. It lies in the right upper abdomen under the ribs and partially adheres to the diaphragm. It is not palpable in healthy individuals. The liver can be felt under the right costal arch, but only when it is pathologically enlarged.

Function: The liver produces and secretes bile. The liver is also the central metabolic organ in the human body, in which metabolic products are synthesised, utilised, broken down and stored.
