Glinides
These are oral antidiabetic drugs which increase the release of the hormone insulin into the body after glucose intake and thus lower concentrations of blood sugar. Glinides bind to the B-cells of the islets of Langerhans in the pancreas, which causes the bubbles which contain insulin (vesicles) to empty. Glinides are used in type 2 diabetes.
