Combination Therapy
In a combination therapy, either several drugs are used at the same time, or formulation are used which already consist of two or more drugs.
The aim is to improve the action or to reduce the side effects. It is mostly necessary to use combination therapy in particularly severe infections with partially resistant infective agents, for example in tuberculosis and in HIV infections.
