Transplantation

Transplantation

Transplantation offers life changing and life saving surgery to many patients with organ failure – helping to improve the long-term outcomes and enhance the quality of life of transplant recipients.

Cytomegalovirus (CMV) is the most common and serious viral infection in solid organ transplantation. Transplant recipients are particularly at risk of developing CMV infection because they are required to take medicines that suppress their immune system.
